"How do I deal with aching joints?" is one of the most common questions I get from my readers. The good news is there are plenty of ways to take care of your joints, naturally. Here are 6 natural remedies that you should incorporate into your life immediately if you have aching joints.

1. Stay Hydrated

Joints are enclosed capsules that needs fluid, making dehydration a major problem that people often forget about. To ease aching joints, I recommend you drink at least six to eight cups of water a day. If you're someone who doesn't like water, I recommend putting a little lime, a lemon, or fruit in your water to flavor it.  I recommend using distilled water.

2. Use Cold Packs/Hot Packs

If your aching joints are caused by an acute injury, use a cold pack on it immediately to keep the swelling down. Hot packs or hot pads are great for like chronic injuries to help bring the blood flow to the area and ease the pain. Heat is also one of the best natural remedies for arthritis.

3. Eat Foods for Joint Health

Anti-inflammatory foods are great for comfort. Some foods for easing aching joints include:

  • Fruits (kiwi, cherries, papaya)
  • Vegetables (broccoli, leeks, onions)
  • Fish (salmon, cod, tuna)
  • Bone broth

I've been recommending bone broth for over twenty years. It is so beneficial because it contains the same compounds as your joints, and is one of my top natural remedies for arthritis. It’s also very easy to make your own bone broth.

4. Practice Low-Impact Exercises

The joint has like a cartilage surface that’s like a sponge: it needs to be squeezed in and out to allow the fluid to come in and out. That’s why exercises for joints are so important. Here are some you might like to try to avoid aching joints:

5. Take a Good Supplement

Ingredients like eggshell membrane, collagen, and glucosamine are great for easing aching joints. Some of the better products will also have extract of actual animal bone which is very beneficial for your joints.

6. Use Turmeric for Joint Health

Turmeric is an extremely beneficial anti-inflammatory ingredient and very beneficial for joint health, and is one of my top natural remedies for arthritis. You can use turmeric for joint health by taking it orally in a capsule, or applying it topically to areas of discomfort.
